What kind of dock space do the local hangouts have? Like do you have to fight to get a spot or show up at the perfect time or is there pretty much always space for anyone?
The old TKO Shea's in palmetto is reopened. But I don't know the name of the new place. There is good docking plus there is fuel and bait right there too.
On the Manatee River
Regatta Point Marina, is on the Green side. At Riverside, they have clearly marked dockage accommodating larger boats for food and drinks, but they close at 9:00 PM.
Across the river on the red side is Twin Dolphins Marina. Their restaurant, Mattson’s, is open later, usually has a Band, plenty of dockage, and the happy hour menu will impress anyone on board.
Further up river on the red side is a brand new place not open yet, Tarpon Pointe Bar and Grill. Not sure when it will be open but it has an open air Tiki style with near 360 degree water view.
Further still up river, on the green side after the fourth bridge, is Woody’s River Roo. Bigger boats will want to dingy in, but center consoles and the like have no trouble finding a spot to tie up. The food is great, and they always have live music.
The old Holiday-inn is now the Ramada Inn and Marina. They have a tiki bar called the bearded calm. The price is great for the rooms.$69 for a single and $99 for a luxery suite. But one raelly bad thing.they want $1.85 a foot for your dockage. And its a 30 foot min.
